Promois™ S-700SIGF

1 of 92 products in this brand
Promois™ S-700SIGF is a silylated derivative of hydrolyzed silk protein. It protects and repairs hair, and improves its texture by a heat enhancing effect that results in the formation of a film on the hair in response to heat from hair dryers or hair ironing. Silk protein is formed of two proteins: fibroin and sericin. Fibroin has a unique amino acid composition. It is rich in glycine, alanine and serine which have small molecular weight and simple chemical structure. This composition is known to form a sheet structure to which is associated the comfortable touch of silk. Many of the amino acids of sericin have hydroxyl groups which provides uncomparable moisturizing effect. Promois™ series is a range of peptides and derivatives obtained through hydrolysis of natural proteins. There are also products with different preservatives. It is developed and manufactured in Japan by SEIWA KASEI.

Product Background

Silk is a fiber made of two proteins, mainly fibroin but also sericin. Fibroin has a unique amino acid composition. Glycine, alanine and serine which have small molecular weights and simple chemical structures account for 90%. These amino acids are known to be arranged in  ß-sheets which greatly contributes to silk well-known shiny appearance and smoothness.

Promois SIG series is a derivative bonded with a silyl group at the N-terminal of the hydrolyzed protien (peptide). It is a "Heat active ingredient", having thermal reactive unique feature, that is different from other peptide derivatives.

Coated layer on the hair surface is formed by the Promois SIG-treatement and heating processes using hair-dryer or hair-iron.

"Heat active effect" , Protecting hair from damages caused by heat and improving the hair strength and texture, is exerted by the layer.

Promois™ S-700SIGF - Verification Tests

Evaluation method:

Damaged hairs treated by Promois SIG were used in this test. Hair surface of test hairs with heating process by hair dryer (65°C, 5min) or without heating process were observed by scanning electron microscope (x 2000).

Control:

Damaged hair treated with ion-exchanged water

  • Improvement of smoothness

Promois™ S-700SIGF - Verification Tests - 1

Evaluation method:

Damaged hairs treated by Promois SIG were used in this test. Smoothness of test hairs with heating process by hair dryer (65°C, 5min) or without heating process were evaluated by friction tester.

Control:

Damaged hair treated with ion-exchanged water.

  • Improvement of hair strength

Promois™ S-700SIGF - Verification Tests - 2

Evaluation method:

Damaged hairs treated by Promois SIG wre used in this test. Hair strength of test hairs with heating process by hair iron (180°C, 10sec) or without heating process were evaluated by hair rheology analyzer.

Control:

Damaged hair treated with ion-exchanged water.
