Smiths Metal Centers Polycarbonate (PC) is supplied as a machine grade which is well suited for a variety of application which requires high impact strength. It is an amorphous transparent material which benefits from a combination of good mechanical and electrical properties. The material is readily recyclable and benefits from good machinability and can be machined to close working tolerances.

Acetal-C ESD90, dissipative is a high-quality engineering plastic material. It is used to prevent uncontrolled static discharge in sensitive electronic environments or in explosive atmospheres.

Smiths Metal Centers Nylon 6G, Natural or Black is a high-quality general-purpose wear resistant engineering plastic material. Its chemical name is polyamide. It is available in a range of grades and forms to suit many applications. The casting process allows the production of larger material sections virtually free from residual stress. It may also be cast into customer shapes that reduce material waste and machining time.

Smiths Metal Centers Acrylic PMMA is an amorphous thermoplastic which is optically transparent, unaffected by moisture, and offers a high strength-to weight ratio. Common trade names for this material include Plexiglas®, Acrylite® and Lucite®. Acrylics are not recommended for use with chlorinated or aromatic hydrocarbons, esters or ketones. However, the material is unaffected by aqueous solutions of most detergents, acids, alkali’s and laboratory chemicals. It is both a thermoplastics and transparent plastic and is often used as an alternative to glass, but should not be used in structural applications due to poor impact resistance.
