About Us

"Specialty Silicone Products, Inc. was founded in 1989 by four employees of GE Silicones. They recognized that several niche markets were emerging based on silicone technology and no commercial solution existed to meet this growing demand. They combined their experience to design and manufacture EMI RFI Conductive Silicones for Electronics/Military applications; Silicone/PTFE Septa liners and caps for Pharmaceutical customers; and custom silicone compounds for Industrial Gasket Fabricators all tailored to meet their exact specifications. Today SSP has a reputation for developing “Silicones that Work” and delivering them to our customers with speed, flexibility, and service. Some of these products were designed to meet demanding specifications such as: MIL-DTL-83528 Type B, a Shielding application only a few manufacturers have been approved by the DLA on the Qualified Products List (QPL); MIL-DTL-25988, a military and aerospace gasket material designed for harsh environments associated with fuel, oil, and seal salt exposure; and an approved manufacturer of 510(k) Medical Devices. SSP has 70 employees following our 2015 completion of a 19,000 square feet expansion to our manufacturing space. Our total facility footprint is now 54,000 square feet ."

Specialty Silicone Products SSP-1219 is a stiff, tacky lubricating compound designed for a wide range of applications where contacting surfaces are not under heavy load, but high temperatures are expected. SSP-1219 is useful as an electrical insulator, corrosion inhibitor, water repellent, mold release, and metal, rubber and plastic parts lubricant.SSP-1219 features no separation at temperatures up to 500°F, low volatility, non corrosive, plus ensures performance consistency and stability. It can be used in applications where indirect food contact can occur.

Specialty Silicone Products SSP-1201-A is a lubricating grease designed for demanding applications where maximum surface contact is required under load and where extremely low temperatures are expected. SSP-1201-A features an application operating range of -150°Fto 475o F, low volatility, non-corrosive, plus excellent dispersion and stability. SSP-1201-A is useful as a lubricant in extreme high pressure applications. This PTFE-filled silicone grease is comparable to DC 33 bearing grease from Dow Corning, and G-321 silicone lubricant from Novagard.

Specialty Silicone Products SSP-1217 is a light bodied silicone lubricating grease, containing a high content of PTFE, designed for demanding applications where maximum surface contact is required under a wide range of loads. SSP1217 (TEFCONE 2) features an application operating range of ‐40°F to 400°F, non‐corrosiveness, plus excellent dispersion and stability. SSP1217 (TEFCONE 2) offers superior lubrication to a wide variety of metals and non‐metals, as well as corrosion resistance, as well as superior electrical insulation characteristics.

SSP-1208WA is useful as corrosion inhibitor, plastics gear lubricant, and mold release. It is best suited for conditions where extreme water resistance are desired. SSP-1208WA features minimal separation at temperatures up to 500°F, low volatility, and is non corrosive to plastics.

SSP-1401-L is a light-bodied, MIL-S-8660C compliant, QPL listed, moisture proofing, silicone compound for mechanical and electrical connections.

SSP-1405L features a useful application range of -70°F to 45°F, no bleed or separation and excellent dispersion and stability. SSP-1405L does not dry out, harden or melt.
