G-3300

G-3300 operates as an anionic surfactant with versatile applications. It is employed as a pigment dispersant in both water- and oil-based paints. Additionally, it serves as an effective wetting agent suitable for waterborne coatings. Its integration can take place during the letdown phase of production or through post-addition to the final formulation. The potential positive effects encompass gloss enhancement, improved color acceptance, and enhanced washability.

Applications & Uses

Coating Type
Applications

G-3300 is an amine salt of alkylbenzene sulfonic acid. It may be used as a pigment dispersant in both water and oil based paints. It may also be used in combination with other surfactants to design specialty emulsifiers. G-3300 is an effective wetting agent for use in waterborne coatings. It can be incorporated during the letdown phase of production or post added to the final formulation. Typical use level, based on active content, is 2 – 6 lbs/100 gallons, however, optimal dosing should be determined by performing a ladder study. G-3300, may also positively impact the following coatings properties:

  • Gloss
  • Color Acceptance
  • Washability

Clearances

The international inventories (country clearances) of G-3300 can be found in Section 15 of the Safety Data Sheet (SDS). It is the responsibility of the formulator to review the chemical control regulations for each country where the end product is intended to be sold or used.

Packaging & Availability

Standard Packaging

G-3300 is available in bulk, drum and tote quantities.

Storage & Handling

Storage & Handling
  • Bulk Storage Information: Tanks made of 316 stainless steel or fiberglass with Atlac 382 corrosion liner are recommended. Positive displacement gear pumps and piping should be 316 stainless steel. Recommended storage for bulk tanks is 26-37 °C (80-100 °F).
  • Handle G-3300 with care; use away from sparks and open flame. Use in a well ventilated area. Contact with eyes, nose, and prolonged contact with skin should be avoided. Use gloves and safety goggles when handling G-3300.
  • It is recommended that G-3300 be stored in sealed containers at temperatures below 32 °C (90 °F). Avoid overheating or freezing. If material is frozen, mild heat and agitation are recommended to ensure the material is homogeneous before use.
