Storage & Handling

Storage & Handling
  • Normal safety precautions (i.e. gloves and safety glasses) should be employed when handling STEPAN-MILD SL3-BA. Contact with the eyes and prolonged contact with the skin should be avoided. Wash thoroughly after handling material.
  • It is recommended STEPAN-MILD SL3-BA be stored in sealed containers and kept at a temperature <30°C. Avoid freezing or overheating. If material is frozen, warm slowly to room temperature and agitate to ensure material is homogeneous before use. Do not expose this product to temperatures >30°C for an extended period of time. Sulfosuccinates typically display evidence of instability with storage at elevated temperatures, as indicated by a decrease in pH and an increase in the nonionic content which will increase the viscosity of SL3-BA. Stepan’s recommended re-test for this product is 6 months from the date of manufacture. After 6 months, we recommend the customer re-analyze to assure product is within specification.
Workplace Exposure

Occupational exposure can occur primarily through skin contact or via inhalation of vapors and mists. Engineering controls, personal protective equipment, and other workplace practices should be used to control these exposures.
