- STEPAN PEARL 2 is a special blend which enables the formulator to incorporate a pearlescent appearance into shampoos, bubble baths, dishwashing liquids, and other personal care products without additional heating or extended processing time.
- The unique emulsifier package in STEPAN PEARL 2 produces excellent pearlescence through cold blending. This excludes the need for external heating such as with mono and di-stearates and allows the formulator to produce a product at ambient temperatures. As a result, the formulator benefits from direct energy savings as well as quicker batch cycling.
- It is recommended that STEPAN PEARL 2 be incorporated into alcohol sulfate or alcohol ethoxylate systems. Common use levels of 1% to 5%, depending on the desired intensity of pearlescence desired, are recommended. Typically, 2.5% to 3% will achieve an esthetically acceptable pearl.

Storage & Handling
- Storage & Handling
- Normal safety precautions (i.e. gloves and safety goggles) should be employed when handling STEPAN PEARL 2. Contact with the eyes and prolonged contact with the skin should be avoided. Wash thoroughly after handling material.
- It is recommended that STEPAN PEARL 2 be stored in sealed containers and kept at temperatures kept between 40°F (4.5°C) and 110°F (43.3°C). Avoid overheating or freezing. If material is frozen, mild heat and agitation are recommended to ensure the material is homogeneous before use.
