STEPCOTE W-805 is an effective wetting agent for use in waterborne coatings. It can be incorporated during the letdown phase of production or post added to the final formulation. This product is low active, solid content should be considered when formulating. Typical use level, based on active content, is 2 – 6 lbs/100 gallons, however, optimal dosing should be determined by performing a ladder study. STEPCOTE W-805, although primarily a wetting agent, may positively impact the following coatings properties:
- Gloss
- Low Foaming
- Temperature Stability
- Color Acceptance
- Wet Scrub Resistance
- Hiding
- Washability
