STEPCOTE W-839 is an effective wetting agent for use in waterborne coatings. It can be incorporated during the letdown phase of production or post added to the final formulation. Typical use level, based on active content, is 2 – 6 lbs/100 gallons, however, optimal dosing should be determined by performing a ladder study. STEPCOTE W-839, although primarily a wetting agent, may positively impact the following coatings properties:

- Normal safety precautions (i.e., gloves and safety goggles) should be employed when handling STEPCOTE W-839. STEPCOTE W-839 is severely irritating to eyes and skin, contact with eyes, nose and skin should be avoided.
