Recommended Applications

STRUKTOL MR 187 is a silicone-free anti-tack agent and external lubricant for rubber processing.

STRUKTOL MR 187 has been especially designed as a mandrel release agent for EPDM hoses, but can be used successfully as lubricant for cured rubber articles as well.

STRUKTOL MR 187 is thermally stable and does not form resinous or coke-like deposits on the mandrel even after repeated curing cycles.

STRUKTOL MR 187 has only a very small swelling effect on EPDM and other common elastomers such as NR and SBR (not suited for ECO).

STRUKTOL MR 187 offers unlimited miscibility with water and can therefore be rinsed away easily after application.

We recommend a wash water temperature of 20°C to 40°C; an addition of detergents is not necessary. Cooler water can also be used but this will prolong the time needed for the washing operation. (At 10°C necessary washing time will be approx. 3 times longer than at 40°C.)

The temperature of the washing water should not exceed 55°C as then the solubility of the STRUKTOL MR 187 in the water rapidly decreases.

STRUKTOL MR 187 is very well biodegradable in sewage treatment facilities.

STRUKTOL MR 187 should not be stored at temperatures below 0 °C since it may freeze. Frozen product is to be melted at moderate temperatures (approx. 40 – 50 °C) and stirred afterwards.
