This Refined Rosehip oil has a light yellow color and is very lightly scented, almost odorless. Refined oils have been filtered to remove color and odor and are often referred to as Cosmetic grade as they are favored in the making of cosmetic products as the color and smell of Virgin oils can interfere with other ingredients. Some say refined oils have impurities removed, this is true in a sense as they typically have longer shelf life than Virgin oils. Rosehip oil has been cold-pressed from the crushed fruit and seeds of a certain variety of wild rose plant, specifically rosa canina, endemic to Chile. After the rose petals have dropped the distinctive red fruit is harvested. The fruit is also called the hip, hence the name Rosehip. Rosehip oil is high in vitamins such as vitamin C and A, a rich source of antioxidants and essential fatty acids. These vitamins can help reduce signs of skin aging and may help prevent fine lines. This oil also contains antioxidants like tocopherol and carotenoids that have been known to protect the skin and is also rich in anti-inflammatory acids that may help soothe redness and irritation.

Neem Carrier Oil is one of the most popular choices for use in the manufacturing of soaps, cosmetics, and massage oils. It is pressed from the tree's seed kernels and is prized for its antiviral, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. The Azadirachta indica botanical, better known as the Neem Tree, is believed to have originated in either India or Burma. When it was discovered that the tree can thrive in any warm, dry regions, migrating Indians introduced it to other lands including Africa, Fiji, Mauritius, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Cambodia. Its resistance to droughts and its tolerance to heat are factors that contribute to its long lifespan of up to 200 years. Neem is well known for its beneficial effects on the skin and in scalp disorders. Its antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and fungicide properties, make it perfect for itchy, dry hair and scalp conditions. It helps restore body and shine to dry, damaged and delicate hair and helps mend the appearance of split ends. Considered by the people of India to be sacred, the Neem tree has come to symbolize good health and protection. Traditionally Neem oil was used topically to address such ailments as fevers, respiratory issues, tetanus infections, rheumatism, arthritis, jaundice, malaria, ringworm, lice, fungal and bacterial infections of the skin, scabies, hives, eczema, psoriasis, and gastrointestinal diseases. Historically, Neem Oil was even used as a topical contraceptive.

Conventional or organic available Macadamia - Macadamia integrifolia - is a tree in the Proteaceae family, native to Queensland in Australia. The Macadamia is a medium-sized tree which can grow to approximately 20 m in height with a similar crown width, giving the tree a rounded shape its leaves are simple with toothed margins and are 7 to 15 cm in length. The flowers are white or pinkish followed by woody, rounded fruits which are 2 to 3.5 cm in diameter. The story of the macadamia began thousands of years ago, in the rainforest along the north east coast of Australia. Before European settlement, Aboriginal people congregated on the eastern slopes of Australia’s Great Dividing Range to feed on the seed of two evergreen trees, one of which they called ‘Kindal Kindal’ which was the macadamia. Aboriginal people had other names for macadamia including Boombera, Jindill & Baupal. Macadamias were not staple fare they were considered a delicacy and were treasured and collected wherever they were found. They were also traded between tribes and used as special ceremonial gifts at inter-tribal corroborees. Aboriginal women would collect macadamias in their coolamons or dilly bags and take them to their feasting grounds. They would remove the husk and crack the shells using stones with special indentations. This technique involved placing the flat indented stone over the nut and then striking it with a larger stone, delivering an even force and minimizing the damage to the kernel. Available as Refined and Unrefined.

    • INCI Name:Olus Oil, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Seed Oil, Tocopherol
    • Functions:Anti-Inflammatory, Carrier, Smoothing Agent, Moisturizing Agent, Nourishing Agent, Protective Agent
    • Labeling Claims:Ulta Beauty's Conscious Beauty
iLipid Walnut is a Refined Vegetable Oil that improves the intrinsic properties of Walnut oil creating a more functional vegetable oil. iLipid Walnut has the fatty acid composition as inferred by the Walnut Oil. The physical characteristics have been improved resulting in minimal color level and a virtually odorless vegetable oil. iLipid Walnut exhibits greater stability over time compared to Walnut oil due to the addition of natural Tocopherols. The Walnut tree is original from the Middle East; it is thought to have been imported from Iran to Western Europe. Walnut has been widely applied in diets and cooking due to its ability to replenish vital energy and nourish the blood. iLipid Walnut is high in polyunsaturated fats. It contains about 20% Oleic acid and 60% Linoleic acid (Omega 6). Walnuts are the only nuts that contain a significant amount of Omega 3 (α-Linolenic acid). Omega 3 has an anti-inflammatory effect and it helps to maintain a supple and youthful skin. iLipid Walnut also contains natural Vitamin E. In its role as a captor of free radicals, vitamin E protects cells from attacks by free radicals by neutralizing them. Topical vitamin E has shown to have a wide variety of skin benefits. Many studies have shown that it can help decrease the effects of psoriasis, erythema, and may help in reducing the risk of skin cancer. Vitamin E also helps in the reduction of scaring from wounds and on the appearance of stretch marks on the skin. iLipid Walnut is highly hydrating and nourishing due to the Omega 6 content.
