FPPF Chemical Company was founded in 1975 by Chris Lory — an entrepreneur from Buffalo, New York. He recognized the decline of fuel quality and the increases in fuel costs as two problems that required solving in the industry. National Process Industries was formed in 1963 by two friends from completely different backgrounds, Lon Chaney and Roy Smith. Rather than follow his father and grandfather in the acting business, Lon had a successful career as a manufacturing engineer and manager with a large heating and air conditioning company.
