XIBOND® 160 is a reactive additive to improve the blend morphology of polymer blends; this additive is a random copolymer of styrene and maleic anhydride. XIBOND® 160 is a random copolymer of styrene and maleic anhydride. It can be processed in all types of regular polymer processing equipment. For good dispersion in styrenic polymer like ABS, twin screw extruders with a mild screw configuration and vacuum degassing facility are recommended. To avoid product degradation, temperatures above 315 °C and high shear stresses should be avoided.

These initiators show an extended gelation time compared to Metox-50.

The good melt stability of Zytel® nylon resin normally enables the recycling of properly handled production waste. If recycling is not possible, DuPont recommends, as the preferred option, incineration with energy recovery (-31kJ/g of base polymer) in appropriately equipped installations. For disposal, local regulations have to be observed. Zytel® nylon resin typically is used in demanding applications in the automotive, furniture, domestic appliances, sporting goods and construction industry.
