LUMIFLON^® is the first solvent-soluble fluoropolymer resin for coatings that can be cured at room temperature or at elevated temperatures. LUMIFLON resins, used in topcoats, are ultra-weatherable, and maintain their excellent appearance on buildings, bridges, and other structures, as well as on aircraft, automobiles, and solar panels.

LUMIFLON coatings protect steel, aluminum and other metals as well as concrete from degradation by UV light, wind and rain, and corrosion. A transparent fluororesin, LUMIFLON can be used to make both clear and pigmented coatings. Because of their ultra-weatherability, LUMIFLON based coatings offer substantial life cycle cost savings over conventional coatings. The resins can be formulated into coatings with a range of gloss (from high gloss to flat finishes) in more than 230 colors. LUMIFLON resins are available for almost any type of coating, including solvent based resins, powder coating resins, environmentally friendly solid resins for low VOC and HAPS free coatings, and water emulsion and water dispersion resins. AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc. LUMIFLON® FD1000 - FEVE Waterborne Resin Polyol is a fluoroethylene vinyl ether waterborne resin used in applications requiring outstanding exterior durability. It is a polyol used in 2K polyurethane coatings and may be used as a blending resin in 1K systems. It has a low molecular weight combined with a high hydroxyl value for creating 2K waterbased polyurethane coatings with a high crosslink density. This waterborne polyol is classified as a dispersion as it is synthesized without emulsifier. This unique, emulsifier-free technology allows for the formulation of waterbased 2K polyurethane coatings with the same performance as traditional solventbased 2K coatings. Markets include heavy duty industrial coatings, architectural coatings, aerospace coatings, automotive coatings, and coatings for concrete.

AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc. LUMIFLON® FE-4400 Isocyanate is a water emulsion developed to meet VOC and HAPS regulations on some solvents in the US. It is a hydroxyl functional compound that can be crosslinked with water-dispersible polyisocyanates. Like other LUMIFLON® resins, this product is used to produce coatings with high gloss and excellent durability. LUMIFLON® polymers consist of alternating fluoroethylene and alkyl vinyl ether segments (FEVE). The fluorinated segments provide outstanding UV stability, weather resistance, and chemical resistance, while the vinyl ether segments provide solvent compatibility and crosslinking sites. These resins are used to make ultra-weatherable coatings for architectural, aerospace, automotive, and industrial maintenance markets.

The fluorinated segments provide outstanding UV stability, weather resistance, and chemical resistance, while the vinyl ether segments provide solvent compatibility and crosslinking sites. LUMIFLON resins are used to make ultra-weatherable coatings for architectural, aerospace, automotive, and industrial maintenance markets. LUMIFLON LF-600X is a moderate OH number resin. It is typically used to formulate coil coatings where flexibility and excellent weatherability are required. The major market where LF-600X finds application is the architectural market. However, LF-600X is also being used in ambient cure applications where high coating flexibility is required, for example, in coatings for plastics.

AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc. LUMIFLON® LF710F - FEVE Resin Polyol is a fluoroethylene vinyl ether (FEVE) resin designed for weather-resistant, high performance powder coatings. LF710F resin has hydroxyl functionality allowing for crosslinking with polyisocayanates or amino curing agents. Powder coatings based on LF710F exhibit excellent durability in exterior weathering exposure, resisting chalk, color fade, and gloss loss. LUMIFLON LF710F is supplied in flake form. It is soluble in various common solvents and may be used in high performance solventbased coatings. It may be used on a variety of substrates requiring long term weatherability. FEVE resins tend to have good adhesion to metal. Depending on the service environment, they may be used to coat directly over metal without the use of primer.
