Applications & Uses
- Coating Type
- Amount to Use
The dose required to protect aqueous systems will depend on several factors. These include the type of product, its susceptibility to microbiological attack, the extent to which micro-organisms can gain access, the organisms present, the pH of the product, the temperature of storage and the length of time for which protection is required.
In most new cases, trials are necessary to optimize the needs of an individual system. Typical addition levels for trial purposes are shown in Table 3.
If higher levels are required, we recommend reference to the Safety Data SheetWhen To Add
The exceptional stability of PROXEL BD to both heat and to pH variations normally permits its addition together with the water at an early stage of manufacture, since the non-volatility of BIT ensures no loss of antimicrobial activity when the product is subsequently heated. However, the antimicrobial activity of BIT may be affected by the presence of some oxidizing agents, for example, persalts or sulphites.- Typical Levels of Addition for Trial Purposes
