Vit-A-Like® PW LS 9898 is an alternative to retinol that has a comparable mechanism of action, equivalent performance, but with improved tolerance and stability. Retinol, a form of vitamin A, is considered as a benchmark for anti-aging products. Retinol, however, can be unstable and difficult to work with and can induce skin irritation, making it incompatible for sensitive skin formulations. In response to these issues, BASF developed Vit-A-Like™.

Hyalurosmooth® PW LS 8997 is a natural, botanically derived, high molecular weight polysaccharide from the seeds of the Indian plant Cassia angustifolia, commonly known as senna. The polysaccharides form a protective film on the skin that strongly binds water and fills in fine lines. By providing intense moisturization the skin appears additionally plumped up, which further contributes to reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles and smoothing the skin's surface. As a result of the smoother surface, light reflection is also improved, leading to increased skin radiance.
