Laromer® is the trademark for radiation-curable binders and monomers. Laromer® types are unsaturated acrylic ester resins and functional acrylic ester monomers for radiation-curable coatings. Functional acrylic ester monomers are non-volatile reactive thinners that serve both to adjust the processing viscosity and, through incorporation into the cured films, to modify the properties of the final coating. Unsaturated acrylic ester resins, due to their different chemical structures, determine within broad limits the basic properties of coatings. Laromer® UV monomers and oligomers can be used for 100% UV composite systems. In addition Laromer® grades offer possibilities in styrene emission reduction. They also allow changing of the properties of traditional epoxy or unsaturated polyester systems, e.g. an increasing flexibility and/or cohesion of the final composite. Our Laromer® range contains urethane acrylates (aromatic), urethane acrylates (aliphatic, with monomer), reactive diluents, epoxy acrylates (aliphatic & aromatic), amine-modified polyether acrylates (alkoxylated), oligoether acrylates, polyether acrylates (monomer-free, amine-modified), polyester acrylates, Laromer® pigment grinding resin. The Laromer® product line offers high-performance binders, resulting in emission-free energy curing of offset, liquid and screen inks plus overprint varnishes.

Disponil® grades are anionic based surfactants for a wide range of applications where dynamic wetting and solubilising properties are needed. Especially their strong emulsifying and dispersing characteristics are the main property in diverse applications. They are used during the polymerization process are essential for problem-free manufacture, insitu-polymerization stabilization and can also positively influence the dispersion performance in application. Disponil® grades are free of sodium chloride and the remaining salt content of sodium sulfate is reduced to a very low limit. With regard to the 1,4 Dioxan content in fatty alcohol ether sulfates (FES) the level is reduced to a limit depending on the ethoxylation degree. Overall the content is below 150 ppm, whereas the lowest is < 5ppm. Those narrow ranged by-products of the main product are mandatory in sensitive applications like emulsion polymerisation processes. In addition most of the emulsifiers are FDA or BfR (Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung) approved.

Acronal® is a range water-based emulsions. Acronal® range for exterior paints covers styrene and pure acrylics which offer a very high durability against the influence of weathering. Acronal® range for wood and trim paints offer a very high durability against the influence of weathering. In addition, our styrene acrylics have an outstanding chemical resistance, which is very important for exterior applications. BTC’s range of Acronal® dispersions covers both selfcrosslinking and non selfcrosslinking dispersions. BTC’s range of Acronal® types give decorative foils, filters and wallpaper excellent mechanical properties. In air and oil filters for the automotive industry they improve durability and performance. In high-quality decorative paper foil, our binders ensure a high level of stability of the bonded fibers. To abrasives our binders ensure the abrasives flexibility and reduce abrasive particle wear. BTC’s Acronal® types for natural fibers are acrylic dispersions. BTC’s range of Acronal® types give nonwovens made of synthetic fibers their exceptional and different functional properties.

Kauropal products are used in decorative overlay paper to impair higher gloss retention and better scratch resistance. These impregnating resins are also used to add functionality to furniture or finish foils & edge bending. They provide better wetting, higher flexibility, higher efficiency and higher hiding power for white decorative films. Kauropal resins are also used for laminate floorings, to enhance antistatic properties and to develop higher efficiency under unlimited shelf-life

Baxxodur® curing agents are available as cycloaliphatic amines and as polyether amines. They are used as hardeners in the formulation of polyurethane composites. Depending on the requirements BTC’s curing agents allow long work-life (1-2 days), fast cure at elevated temperatures (100 – 180°C), excellent high temperature properties and chemical resistance, and good adhesion on metals.

Joncryl® styrene acrylic resins and emulsions are the key components of high performance inks and coatings. Water-based inks and coatings formulated with Joncryl® products are a good sustainable, consistent quality alternative to solvent-based products. The Joncryl® range contains acrylic and styrene-acrylic RC emulsions, acrylic colloidals, crosslinking agents, polyethylene waxes for water-based ink & overprint varnish. Joncryl® ECO is a product range of glycol-ether-free and food-contact compliant dispersions. Joncryl® ECO types are meeting the stringent demands of food and packaging applications, such as for the tobacco and the confectionary markets.

Dispex® dispersing agents are used to wet and stabilize pigments and other particles in pigmented coatings. For formulators they represent an essential component as they provide color strength, gloss, viscosity, stability and prevent sedimentation of particles. They find application in automotive & industrial coatings, furniture & floorings coatings, inks & printing, exterior & interior coatings, wood & trim coatings, and compsites. Additives like our Dispex® range of dispersing agents are used to stabilize the filler distribution within paints and coatings. For paint producers, they represent an essential component as they provide. They can also be used as agrochemical additives (dispersants) for seed treament.

Irganox® performance additives are used as antioxidants for automotive & industrial coatings. Hindered phenolic (primary AO) deactivate free radicals formed during thermal oxidation. They are multipurpose for broad temperature ranges and are mostly used to increase long term thermal stability. Irganox® types are antioxidants which help extend the life and improve the performance of industrial and engine lubricants. The manufacturing industry benefits from longer equipment life and fewer maintenance shutdowns. Automotive lubricants benefit from longer drain intervals and improved fuel economy. Many of our antioxidants are FDA regulated to formulate incidental food contact lubricants and greases for use in food-handling and manufacturing equipment.

Tinuvin® light stabilizers show best performances regarding their thermal stability, substrate compatibility, volatility, absorption range, or regulatory classification as needed. BTC’s Tinuvin® light stabilizers provide effective protection against UV absorption for inks and printing.

MagnaPearl® is a range of mica-based titanium-coated pigments that exhibit a high degree of whiteness combined with brilliance and hiding. They are available in a wide variety of particle sizes creating extraordinary optical effects ranging from a fine-grained luster to a bold silvery-white sparkle. MagnaPearl® effect pigments are pearlescent pigments that are specially engineered. They are available in a variety of particle sizes. BTC’s effect pigments find use in a wide field for the coloration of plastics. They are also suitable for a variety of other industries including the automotive industry as well as the agriculture, building & construction, electrical & electronics, packaging, and textiles & fibers industries. They find also applications in newly emerging markets.

Rheovis® types are rheology modifiers that enable formulators to adjust the flow behavior of their automotive & industrial coatings products. That way they benefit from improved viscosity behavior and application characteristics.

Emulan® grades (C13 oxo alcohol ethoxylates) are nonionic surfactants. They are either liquid formulations, waxy substances, waxy micronized beads or flakes. The products have versatile properties like solubilizing, wetting, dispersing, and soil removal.

Hydropalat® from BTC types are used as wetting agents and surface modifiers. They provide a formulation with adequate wetting properties, enhance different component compatibility and/or improve the appearance of a coated surface in furniture & floorings coatings, automotive & industrial coatings, inks & printing applications.

Lupasol® performance polymers are water soluble polymers. They are either homopolymers or copolymers of various polymers. Depending on their structure such polymers are anionic, nonionic, or cationic charged. They act mainly as additional additive due to their key performance. Lupasol® paper chemicals are components for the production of microcapsules which, in combination with other chemicals, give a highly efficient reactive system to produce carbonless copy papers.

Loxanol® products are used to support the film-forming process of a paint or coating. BTC offers high-performance coalescing agents within this product group.

FoamStar® products are used as defoamers. BTC’s FoamStar® defoamers suppress and destroy foam and its negative effects during inks and printing applications. By removing or inhibiting air bubbles they are important process aids throughout the production as well as the applications process. Manufacturers benefit from foam-free production processes by reaching their desired results much quicker.

Acrodur® acrylic resins are available as an aqueous solution. They are self-cross-linking and without formaldehyde release. BTC’s range of Acrodur® types gives decorative foils, filters, and wallpaper excellent mechanical properties. Acronal® types with specific properties give the best performance for mineral, glass fibers, and natural fibers (acrylic resins as a binding agent). Acronal® latexes are based on styrene-acrylate polymers and provide optimum printability and low yellowing tendency.

Cinquasia® pigments covering violets and bordeaux shade are used in many tinting systems to enable high chroma deep shades and clean pale shades, frequently used as blue shading components with reds. Their quinacridone chemistry builds on chemical stability coupled with high strength and durability which makes them ideally suited to both interior and exterior applications. These products are high-performance organic and inorganic pigments and dyes. They combine very good tinctorial properties with excellent fastness to light, chemicals and solvents. They full fill the requirements of most critical applications. BTC’s Cinquasia® pigments show outstanding weathering resistance and processing stability, both properties required for top quality colouration of plastics, fibers and speciality printing inks.

Poligen® wax types refer to pure waxes of oxidized polyethylene waxes or ethylene copolymers. Poligen® products are already emulsified waxes and are used for ready-to-formulate purposes. The oxidized ethylene polymers provide the property of emulsification and thus wax emulsions can be prepared. They are defined by their mechanical and physical properties. The chemical constitution is mainly different. Oxidized polyethylene waxes are of high hardness and higher molar mass.

Protectol® types are biocides that are rated as active substances under the European Biocidal Products Regulation. Protectol® products are used for human hygiene purposes as well as for the disinfection of surfaces, materials, equipment, and furniture and for veterinary hygiene purposes.

Irgazin® pigments primarily cover the red, orange and yellow space. They function in deep and pale shade for chroma and durability and in internal areas where sunlight demands higher performance to avoid fade effects. Their DPP chemistry allows for high durability, solvent resistance and chemical resistance and plays a role in lead free formulations. They are frequently used in exterior coatings. They combine very good tinctorial properties with excellent fastness to light. They full fill the requirements of most critical applications. Alamine® products are used as salification agents of pH regulators for agrochemical applications. Other applications of Alamine® include use as extraction reagents for recovery of rare earth metals, molybdenum, vanadium, and uranium.

Kauramin impregnating resins are condensates of urea and formaldehyde and are used for the coating of laminate. They are characterized by their particular visual appearance as well as by excellent adhesiveness and high scratch resistance.

Black Olive™ is a specialty mica based black effect pigment, coated with a cobalt ferrite. The champagne colored undertone offers a wide spectrum of color designs. This revolutionary product expands the range of absorption colors which are possible to be achieved with mica based pigments in the black and brownish color palette. BTC‘s effect pigments are used extensively in automotive and industrial paints and coatings i.e. automotive OEM, automotive refinish, bicycles and motorcycles.

Basonat® polyisocyanates are crosslinkers for two-component Polyurethane coatings for the automotive and industrial coatings industry. Basonat® harderners have an influence on the curing time of the systems.

Styrofan® types are styrene/butadiene dispersions that give non-wovens made of synthetic fibers their exceptional and different functional properties.

Styronal® latexes are based on styrene-butadiene polymers. It is specifically designed for high binding strength, low latex consumption, and excellent printability.
