Sterocoll® BL is an anionic acrylic acid copolymer dispersion used as a water retention viscosity modifier and thickener for coatings on paper and paperboard. It enhances viscosity independently of pH and allows for a substantial increase in coat weight applied in size press and coating processes with minimal addition (0.1%). Sterocoll BL also improves the runnability of metered size presses by reducing backing roll build-up.
