C*Film™ 7311 is a modified corn starch developed for use in surface applications on paper and packaging grades. C*Film™ 7311 has superior film forming and water holding properties which result in improved surface strength and printability. C*Film™ 7311 exhibits excelllent viscosity stability in all applications, is completely compatible with all commonly used size press and coating additives and can be applied at solids up to 40%.

Application

C*Film™ 7311 is designed to be applied on the surface using a coater or size press. Determination of the optimized paste dilution levels and viscosity for a particlular application can be accomplished with the assistance of your Cargill Technical Service personnel.

Preparation : C*Film™ 7311 starch solutions are obtained by dispersion of the powder in water and cooking by steam: Jet injection of steam: continuous cooking at 260° F to 305° F, at final solids up to 40%. Open vessel with stirrer: 20 min batch cooking at 190° F to 205° F, at solids up to 30%. Your Cargill Technical Service personnel can help determine the ideal cooking conditions for maximum performance of C*Film™ 7311.
