Charge +® 320 starch is a waxy maize cationic corn starch developed for use as a wet-end additive in paper and packaging grades. Charge +® 320 has been shown to cost-effectively improve finished sheet strength properties. Charge +® 320 is considered to have a high charge level.

Application
  • Charge +® 320 can be added to the thick or thin stock of the paper machine at solids levels of 0.5% to 4.0% for internal strength development. The optimized point of addition and paste dilution levels can be determined with the assistance of your Cargill Technical Service personnel.
  • Preparation - Charge +® 320 should be prepared by jet cooking at temperatures between 240° F and 305° F. It can also be batch cooked by heating to 200°F with good agitation for a minimum of 20 minutes. A suggested final paste solids range off the cooker is 2% to 6%. Your Cargill Technical Service personnel can help determine the ideal cooking conditions for maximum performance of Charge +® 320.
