- Applications
Superfilm® 480 is designed to be applied on the surface using a size press or calendar stack (water box) to help improve surface strength and printability. Determination of the optimized paste dilution levels and viscosity for a particlular application can be accomplished with the assistance of your Cargill Technical Service personnel.
Preparation-
Superfilm® 480 starch solutions are obtained by dispersion of the powder in water and cooking by steam: Jet injection of steam: continuous cooking at 260° F to 305° F, at final solids up to 33%.Open vessel with stirrer: 20 min batch cooking at 190° F to 205° F, at solids up to 25%. Your Cargill Technical Service personnel can help determine the ideal cooking conditions for maximum performance of Superfilm® 480.
