In the past decades, Omega-3 ( DHA+EPA ) market has been dominated by fish oil. However, since the emerged of krill oil, it can be seen everywhere in the market ( advertisement, pharmacies, e-commerce, etc).
Krill oil is full with nutritional value, including astaxanthin, omega-3 ( DHA, EPA ) bounded to a phospholipid. As phospholipid is an amphophile, it is highly water and oil soluble, and easily absorbed by the body compared to common fish derived omega-3 bounded with triglyceride ( TG Form ) or ethyl ester ( EE Form ).
As a result, krill oil has enhanced beneficial to cardiovascular, joints, and brain health. Unfortunately, the application of krill oil is limited due to the presence of allergen, unpleasant odor, and not vegetarian friendly. Besides, most of krill oil is mainly applied as soft gel capsules due to its properties restriction. AlgaREDTM is originally from the 100% safe and edible algae species. It is uses exclusive technique for the separation of algae strains containing high concentrations of DHA, EPA, and astaxanthin, which are not found in common algae. Deodorization and purification are achieved by multiple refining procedures. By the cutting-edge multi-layer microen- capsulation named PUFA-SealingTM, the oil droplets of AlgaREDTM become completely water-soluble and evenly dispersed in the aqueous solution (Amphophilic Matrix) (Fig. 1). With the help of the amphoteric matrix, AlgaREDTM has higher bioavailability and wider applicability; shift from the traditional form such as capsule and sachet powder to the more innovative way like beverage.
Under the protection of the embedded matrix layer, the oil droplets can meet the stringent standard of surface oil <0.5% (Free Oil); it fully meets the specifications in Europe and United States. Moreover, algal oil powder is suitable to be added in baby food, such as milk powder. This technology can overcome the oxidation problem of long-chain polyunsatu- rated fatty acids (PUFA), DHA and EPA. AlgaREDTM not only has moderate taste of algae, but also has a shelf life time of up to 24 months; fully suitable for healthy foods, baby prod- ucts and products with high standardizations.

- The color turning to light yellow is natural and not a cause for concern.
