Technical Details & Test Data
- Installation
- All surfaces must be cleaned to remove all traces of dirt, dust, efflorescence, mold, salt, grease, oil, asphalt, laitance, curing compounds, paint, coatings and other contaminants. Acceptable surface cleaning methods include shot-blasting, sand-blasting, water-blasting and chemical cleaners. Check with your Chemical Products Industries, Inc. representative to verify suitable cleaning methods, products and that the surface preparation adequate. Before applying, it is recommended that preliminary tests be carried out to determine usage and to test the effectiveness of the treatment. Depending on the porosity of each designated surface, coverage rates can vary. Typical coverage is approximately 80-300 square feet per gallon. STAINGUARD-WB should be applied by low-pressure (15 to 25 psi) pumping equipment with a wet fan type spray nozzle. Alternate methods include nap roller (1”) or by brush. Horizontal surfaces should be treated until material puddles or stands on the surface. After ten minutes sweep, squeegee, or mop any remaining material to dry areas.Vertical surfaces should be treated using a wet-on-wet technique by applying from the bottom up with six to eight inch run down from the bottom of the spray pattern. During application, precautions should be taken to protect the surrounding area from overspray and run off. STAINGUARD-WB will not etch glass but will leave a residue on non-porous surfaces. Allow 24 hours for the product to cure before subjecting to traffic, moisture or oil.
