Chrysantis

In 1998, Chrysantis, Inc. began its search for a Marigold variety that would produce high amounts of zeaxanthin (zee-uh-zan'-thin), a substance that is beneficial to the eyes. Ball Horticultural Company has over 40 years of experience in breeding successful Xanthophyll (zan-tho-phil) Marigold varieties that contain lutein and now has successfully bred Marigolds that contain zeaxanthin. In partnership with Ball, Chrysantis grows these special Marigolds to harvest two key carotenoids that are found in the retina of the eye – zeaxanthin and lutein (lu-teen). What gives Chrysantis a unique edge is that all of our flower breeding and production are completely natural. From the colorful Marigold flower blooming in the field to the final formulation of the carotenoids, only natural oils and Vitamin E are added. This also marks the first time ever that natural, high-purity zeaxanthin has been in the marketplace – a major breakthrough in the nutraceutical industry.
