Macadamia is a genus of four species of trees indigenous to Australia and constituting part of the family Proteaceae. The tree is commercially important for its fruit: the macadamia nut. Outside of Hawaii and Australia, macadamia is also produced in 11 others countries.
Macadamias are high in fat and low in protein. They have the highest amount of monounsaturated fats of any known seed and make it a desirable ingredient in cosmetics, especialy for skincare. The macadamia oil gives to the skin shine and softness, so the skin is more silky than before. With Macadamia nut oil, the skin has a better elasticity, firmness and tonicity. It is a non comedogenic and very slight oil which helps retain moisture and improve the skin without obstruct pores, protect against sun harmful effects, and an anti-aging action to fight against cell oxidation. They are native to north eastern New South Wales and Central and South eastern Queensland.
