Product Properties: AFCONA-7476 is suitable as a dispersing agent for unsaturated polyesters (SMC, BMC, TMC and pigment concentrates), PVC, epoxies, and polyurethane foams. AFCONA-7476 gives excellent wetting to the glassfiber, resulting in faster wetting of resin to the fiberglass and better bond strength and performance in the final product. AFCONA-7476 is suitable for all pigments, ranging from inorganic to organic pigments, as well as carbon black.

In PVC and PU foam applications, it is often used as a dispersing agent for acidic or neutral carbon black, giving better viscosity reduction and pigment stability. It also serves as an anti-separation additive in SMC, BMC and TMC where it prevents the separation of LS/LP resins like polystyrene and styrene-butadiene-styrene.

In coatings, AFCONA-7476 acts as a very good co-grind agent to prevent flooding and floating. It is also suitable for separate grinding. Does not contain any plasticizers.

Note: AFCONA – 7476 may become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5° C. This will not impact the performance or quality of the product.

Addition and Dosage: Anti-separation agent:0.5 – 2.0% in total formulation.

Dispersing agent:10-30% on pigments.

Glassfiber wetting:0.5 – 2.0% on fiberglass weight.

Co-grind aid:0.5 – 1.5% on total formulation
Incorporation: AFCONA - 7476 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments. However, it can also be used as post-add to solve flooding and floating.

Storage & Handling

Storage Information: AFCONA-7476 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
