AFCONA 3285 is a slip and leveling additive that is terminated by di-hydroxyl functional groups. This polysiloxane-based polymer enables it to crosslink in polyurethane systems as well as heat-cured paints, providing permanent slip to the finished coatings. AFCONA 3285 is recommended for all types of solvent-based coatings, especially wood coatings.

Application Details
  • AFCONA – 3285 is very compatible with most systems. In foam sensitive systems, use this product in combination with a suitable defoamer. For most conventional pressure spray applications, additional defoamers are not usually required.
  • AFCONA-3285 is recommended for all types of solvent-based coatings, especially wood coatings.

Incorporation
AFCONA-3285 may be added at any stage during the production process. This product may be added during the dispersion process to speed up wetting.
Addition and Dosage
AFCONA-3285 may be added at 0.1 - 1.0% based on total formulation. Under normal conditions, 0.2 - 0.5% based on total formulation is sufficient. To prevent marking in PU wood coatings, the suggested dosage needed is 1 - 3% based on total formulation.
