AFCONA 3730 is a leveling agent for solvent-based and solvent-free coatings. AFCONA 3730 is a high molecular weight polyester polymer which offers good leveling properties. It is very compatible with the oil-free polyester resins that are used in can coatings. This means it is very suitable for use as a leveling agent for clearcoats and pigmented coatings, as it will not give haze, orange peel or other side effects to the coating.

  • AFCONA - 3730 is a high molecular weight polyester polymer which offers good leveling properties. It is very compatible with the oilfree polyester resins that are used in can coatings. This means it is very suitable for use as a leveling agent for clearcoat and pigmented coatings, as it will not give haze, orange peel or other side effects to the coating.
  • AFCONA - 3730 also offers very good  compatibility with polyurethane, epoxies, heat cured paint and alkyd based resins.
  • AFCONA - 3730 gives the following advantages:
    • Excellent leveling
    • No influence on final gloss (it has very good compatibility)
    • No incan haziness
    • No recoatability problems
    • High temperature resistance (up to 300°C)
    • Contains OH groups that can crosslink with the coating system, so it will not have a plasticizing effect as other leveling agents may. Thus, it maintains the same physical and chemical resistance as the original formula.

  • Addition and Dosage
    • AFCONA-3730 may be added at 0.3 - 2.0% based on total formulation. Under normal conditions, 0.3 - 1.0% based on total formulation is sufficient.
  • Incorporation
    • AFCONA-3730 should be added at the end of the batch preparation

AFCONA-3730 should be stored in a cool, dry place. When kept in its original, unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiration date is indicated on the container.
