DeCAL 9050 is an amber-colored liquid additive for semi-dry screeds. DeCAL 9050 has been specifically developed to provide rapid drying times, high early and ultimate compressive and flexural strengths in bonded, unbonded, and floating screeds. DeCAL 9050 prevents separation in the pipes and is not affected by latent plasticization, maintaining the desired screed consistency after pumping. Latent plasticization can cause an increase in workability, preventing the screed from being laid as it is too fluid.

Product Highlights
  • DeCAL 9050’s innovative pumping aid allows the screed to be pumped over long distances without changes to the mix consistency and workability. It has been found with standard rapid drying screed additives that high internal pressures in the pipe during pumping can cause issues with separation of the sand and aggregate, which results in a drop in strengths.
  • DeCAL 9050 prevents separation in the pipes and is not affected by latent plasticisation, maintaining the desired screed consistency after pumping. Latent plasticisation can cause an increase in workability, preventing the screed from being laid as it is too fluid. Use of DeCAL 9050 prevents this effect.
Benefits
  • High early compressive and flexural strengths
  • Permits foot traffic after 24 hours
  • Enhanced drying times
  • Produces a Cat A, C40, F7 Screed, allows thinner screeds to be laid without compromising strengths
  • Achieving compressive strengths of up to 60N/mm²
  • Application in underfloor heating, internal and external applications
  • Bonded screeds from 20mm and 35mm for unbonded screeds
  • Superplasticiser contributes to a superior finish
  • Allows pumping over long distances without change in workability and consistency
  • Maintains a homogenous mix in storage and does not require agitation prior to use
  • Low odor

Applications & Uses

Applicable Processes
Use Level
1.3 L(per 50kg of OPC cement)
Dosage
  • Add to mix with water using a moisture content in the range of 6 - 7% (W/C ratio typically 0.40 - 0.45).
  • Allow minimum 2-minute mixing time after addition of all components using a forced action mixer.
Instructions for Use
  • Application temperatures: +5°C to max +28°C (ambient and substrate temperature)
  • Protect from drafts and direct sunlight during setting. Remove surplus moisture by means of draft-free ventilation (natural ventilation).
  • Follow BS 8204-1 and 8000 for guidance on mix designs and laying on site.
  • Prior to laying the top flooring, the residual moisture of the screed must be measured by the floor installller.
  • BS 8203 recommends laying the screed under 75% relative humidity.
