Deuteron MM 680

1 of 86 products in this brand
Deuteron MM 680 is primarily recommended for use in solvent-based 2-component systems (polyurethane or epoxy-resin lacquers). Beyond that, the product is also suitable for other air- and oven-drying systems.Deuteron MM 680 is a mixture of finest-ground (micronized) materials that is well suited as a matting agent in paints and lacquers. Apart from the good matting effect, special importance is also attached to a low binder requirement in order not to affect the flow properties of the matted system considerably. This leads to a good formulation margin in the processing.Deuteron MM 680 does not contain any wax additives, thus coating layers equipped with it are not expected to cause any adhesion problems in multi-layer systems or repair coatings. back

Applications

Deuteron MM 680 is primarily recommended for use in solvent-based 2-component systems (polyurethane or epoxy-resin lacquers). Beyond that, the product is also suitable for other air- and oven-drying systems.

Dosage

The dosage to be used depends on the desired degree of gloss. It also depends on the binder and the overall formulation. As a guiding value, a concentration of 3 to 6 % in the lacquer component is recommended. The exact dosage should be determined by own trials. If (outside of our recommended use) the product were to be intended for use in a solvent-free 2-component system, a matting effect, if at all, can only be achieved with a higher addition (at least 10 %) of Deuteron MM 680.

Processing

Deuteron MM 680 is easily dispersible. Therefore strong shear forces are not required to incorporate the agent; a rapid mixer will be sufficient. The material is also suitable for a subsequent matting or correction of finished lacquer (pigmented or unpigmented).
