Deuteron MM 823

1 of 86 products in this brand
Deuteron MM 823 has been developed for use in solvent-based and solvent-free, non-aqueous coating systems, printing inks and powder coatings. The presence of PTFE in Deuteron MM 823 generally spoils wetting when the product is used in water.Deuteron MM 823 imparts coatings a high resistance to metal marking and abrasion. Scratch resistance will be improved. The product is non thermoplastic. Its use imparts good blocking stability. Increased dosage interferes with the coating‘s gloss. back

Applications

Deuteron MM 823 has been developed for use in solvent-based and solvent-free, nonaqueous coating systems, printing inks and powder coatings. The presence of PTFE in Deuteron MM 823 generally spoils wetting when the product is used in water. Under certain conditions the use of the product in aqueous coating systems is possible. Typical wetting properties of the used binder combined with favorable viscosity can result in good dispersibility of Deuteron MM 823 even in aqueous systems. The use of the product, particularly in water based coating systems, can essentially reduce their tendency to block.

Dosage

The dosage depends mainly on the present system and the required surface. For initial laboratory tests a dosage between 1,0  and 3,0 % is recommended. The exact dosage should be determined by own trials.

Processing

Because of the fine particle size the product can be stirred in with high speed mixer or dissolver. Due to the excellent solvent- and temperature stability Deuteron MM 823 can also be added to the mill base without crystallizing and agglomerating during dispersion or grinding at high temperature. This applies particularly to production in which a dissolver is used and where unfavorable temperature conditions are caused by the high shear rate.
