Deuteron VT 920

1 of 86 products in this brand
Deuteron VT 920 is suitable for use as a thickener and stabilizing additive for all aqueous coating systems and technical applications such as waterthinnable lacquers, dispersion paints and plasters, glues, printing inks, silicon paints as well as pigments and filler preparations. Deuteron VT 920 prevents settling of pigments and fillers and separation of the liquid phase during storage. Application is made easier through pronounced structural viscosity. The viscosity sinks when the shear force is increased. It rapidly returns to the starting value when the shear force is removed. The product is compatible with most commonly used binders and thickeners used in the coating industry. back

Applications

Deuteron VT 920 is suitable for use as a thickening agent and stabilizing additive for lacquers, foodstuffs, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. It can be used for all aqueous coating systems and technical applications such as dispersion paints and plasters, glues, water-miscible paints, printing inks, silicate paint, as well as pigment and filler preparations. Deuteron VT 920 meets the requirements of the Food Chemical Codex (FCC), of the criteria of the EU (E415), 21 CFR § 172.695 (USA), of the JECFA Guidelines, of the European Pharmacopeia (Ph. Eur.), of the US Pharmacopeia (USP), and Japans Specifications and Stand.ards for Food Additives.

Dosage

Depending on the requirement 0.1-0.5% calculated based on the water content. Solutions should not contain more than 1% Deuteron VT 920. Considerably higher concentrations ensure no homogenous dispersion.

Processing

Owing to its particular delivery form as a granulate, it can be dosed easily, evenly and with very little dust, which prevents clump formation. It can be incorporated with limited shear forces. The maximum viscosity is reached already after the relatively short mixing time of 5-10 minutes.
