- Product Applications
- DABCO® DMDEE is a highly blow selective amine catalyst with low selectivity towards isocyanurate, allophanate and biuret reactions.
- This allows for the use of DABCO® DMDEE in one component applications such as OCF and sealants, ensuring very long shelf life.
- DABCO® DMDEE may be used in conjunction with suitable co-catalysts from the DABCO®, POLYCAT® and/or KOSMOS® range, based on specific formulation requirements.
- In PIR formulations, DABCO® DMDEE can be used as co-catalyst in conjunction with trimerization catalysts such as products of the KOSMOS® and DABCO® TMR series when low front end activity is required.
- DABCO® DMDEE and potassium/metal catalyst should not be pre-blended as it might lead to incompatibilities. Separate dosing and/or blending into the polyol is preferred.
- Common use levels of DABCO® DMDEE in OCF applications are in the range of 0.5 % and 1.5 % of the polyol blend.
- Typical use levels of DABCO® DMDEE in two component formulations are in the range of 0.5 and 3.0 parts per 100 parts of polyol. The optimal concentration will depend on specifics of the formulation.
