Application Characteristics

• Dynasylan® SIVO 203 is a versatile product that provides improved product performance and quality.
• Dynasylan® SIVO 203 is soluble in alcohols, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, but it can undergo reactions with ketones or ester solvents.
• Dynasylan® SIVO 203 may also be used as an additive or as a primer in coatings and as a primer in adhesives and sealants applications.
• When used as an additive, Dynasylan® SIVO 203 can eliminate the need for special primers in numerous bonding applications.
• Specific systems that demonstrate improved adhesion when Dynasylan® SIVO 203 is used include RTV silicones and hybrid silane-crosslinkable systems.
• Loading levels of 0,5 to 2,0 wt. % of Dynasylan® SIVO 203 as an additive - calculated on the overall formulation - are typically recommended.
• Dynasylan® SIVO 203 can also be utilized to treat mineral fillers.
• The special functionalities may result in unique functional filler properties when Dynasylan® SIVO 203 treated minerals are incorporated into polymers.

Improved Mechanical Properties:

Improved mechanical properties: up to 75% tensile strength increase.

Both tailor-made multifunctional silane systems have been tested in a lab study compared to the market stan-dard Dynasylan® AMMO, and led to strongly improved mechanical properties of the corresponding SMP-based sealants (Figure 1, AMMO = 100 as an index).

Significant yellowing reduction: no yellowing during storage nor service lifetime.

As shown below, the visual evaluation of said sealants indicated Dynasylan® SIVO 203 as best silane solution with a look on color stability while Dynasylan® 1146 was 2nd best (Figure 2). Dynasylan® AMMO gave proper specimen while (the old standard) Dynasylan® DAMO-T failed.

Last but not least, Dynasylan® SIVO 20 offer real opportunities to avoid labeling.

High Elastic Adhesives and Sealant

Enhanced adhesion performance: up to 140 % adhesion performance increased on PET substrate.

With Dynasylan® SIVO 203, formulated in SMP- products or RTV-silicones, you can achieve excellent adhesion performance on a wide variety of substrates, especially adhesion on critical substrates like PET or PVC can be significantly improved.
