SIPERNAT® 22 S is a finely milled, hydrophilic silica. It is primarily used as a free-flow agent in other applications. SIPERNAT® 22 S can also be used in-situ hydrophobized in defoamers. The use of an alkaline catalyst is recommended.

The moderate hydrophobicity of these AEROSIL® products is suited for defoaming properties in the presence of appropriate hydrophobic liquids. They are recomended for improving the sedimentation stability of defoamer dispersions as well.
