The Grain Place Foods Cold Pressed Vanilla Extract has about 300 unique flavor components. Because many are delicate and occur in trace amounts they must be extracted carefully. Our vanilla is cold pressed, processed without the use of super-heated liquids. From special chopping machines to custom “cool extractors” heat is never introduced to the extraction process to ensure the rich deep flavor and delicate bouquet of each vanilla bean is passed unchanged to our vanilla extract. For best quality do not refrigerate. Organic Vanilla Extract is made with the finest organic vanilla beans, organic alcohol made from wheat, and filtered water.

Grain Place Foods Organic Long Grain Brown Rice is categorized is by size: short grain has the highest starch content and makes the stickiest rice, whereas long grain is lighter and tends to remain separate when cooked. Medium grain rice falls between the other two types. All brown rice varieties are whole grains, with only the inedible outer hull removed – but none of the many nutrients. Grain Place Foods Organic Hull-Less Barley is a hull-less ancient grain barley. The difference between hulled and hull-less barley starts in the field. Hulled barley or “covered barley” has a hull that adheres to the grain. Hull-less barley or “naked barley” has an outer hull that’s loosely attached to the kernel so it generally falls off during harvesting. This form of barley likely has slightly higher fiber content because it requires less processing. Use hull-less barley as you would hulled barley in soups, stews and salads.

It can also serve as a side dish alone or mixed with other grains or as an addition to salads. For a soft texture try adding 4 cups water to 1 cup barley, for a firmer quality use less water.
