It uses active ingredient P-menthane 3,8 diol (PMD) that is produced in the UK from the lemon eucalyptus oil that KHP exports there. We import the PMD back to Malawi and mix and bottle our sanitiser formula in Lilongwe. Kawandama Hills Plantations Lemon Eucalyptus Oil (Citriodora Oil) also known as citriodora oil, our lemon eucalyptus essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the nearly 2,000ha of Corymbia citriodora trees. Since 2009, we have selectively grown the trees from high quality, high-yielding seeds. We hand prune and coppice the trees on a rigorous bi-annual cycle that takes time and expertise. Our oil has a unique fresh citrus scent – a clean, crisp palette - and is excellent quality. It is grown and distilled at an altitude of 1800m where the annual rainfall is around 1200mm.
