PIBSA 1100 is polyisobutylene succinic anhydrides manufactured via thermal process from a 1000 molecular weight polyisobutylene. These PIBSA intermediates are the precursors used in the preparation of ashless dispersants and emulsifiers. Both PIBSA 1070(P/N) and 1100 have no residual chlorine and exhibit good solubility in paraffinic and naphthenic oils. To ease handling, PIBSA 1070 has been diluted to a 70% active concentration with either a paraffinic (1070P) or naphthenic (1070N) base oil.

End Uses: Metalworking Fluids

Chemical Family: Polyisobutylene Polymers (PIB), Polyolefins

Features: Ashless Additive, Improved Solubility

When reacted with the appropriate amine, PIBSA 1070P is a high-quality raw material for making ashless dispersants for lubricating oils. The reaction products of PIBSA 1070N are used to make specialty emulsifiers for metalworking applications. PIBSA 1100 can produce either an oil or water-soluble product, depending on the selected reactant. This 100% active product allows the formulator greater flexibility.
