Elvanol™ 90-50 by Kuraray is a fully hydrolyzed, medium-to-low viscosity polyvinyl alcohol. Provides high film strength and binding power in relatively low -viscosity systems. Offers oil-, grease-, water and solvent resistance. It combines efficient binding with excellent high shear rheology, controls backside lint and surface debris and provides superior holdout. It is compatible with modified starches. Used in adhesives for porous substrates including paper and paperboard, hot-water soluble film, and as a binder for pigments or other solid particles. It is particularly useful as a pigment binder for ceiling tile primers. Elvanol™ 90-50 complies with FDA regulation.

KURARAY POVAL™ 4-98 (formerly Mowiol® 4-98) by Kuraray is a fully saponified polyvinyl alcohol having varying degree of polymerization and hydrolysis. It is an odorless, water-soluble polymer manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It possesses good penetration capacity and good adhesion properties. It provides high cohesion, toughness, low electrostatic charging and re-dissolving capacity of the dried film in water. Its aqueous solution can be added to polymer emulsions already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol which affects the extension of the open time, setting speed and rheology. KURARAY POVAL™ L-508W is recommended for adhesive and suspending agent for PVC suspension polymerization.

KURARAY POVAL™ 23-88 EE by Kuraray is partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade. It exhibits good bonding strength and pigment binding capacity. It provides good cohesion and adhesion to fibers, fillers and pigments. It is suitable for modification of emulsion and remoistenable adhesives in the paper processing industry. It is used as an adhesive promoter. Aqueous solution of KURARAY POVAL™ 23-88 EE can be added to polymer emulsion which is already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol to extend the open time, increase setting speed and influence the rheology. It is recommended for use in postage stamps and labels.

Exhibits high molecular weight, good cohesion, low ash (sodium acetate) content, good adhesion to fibers-, fillers- and pigments. KURARAY POVAL™ 56-98 LA is recommended for adhesive for flooring webs, PSA labels and also in remoistenable adhesives which are employed mainly in the paper processing industry, films applications.

Aqueous solution of KURARAY POVAL™ 44-88 S2 can be added to polymer emulsion which is already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol to extend the open time, increase setting speed and influence the rheology. It is used in postage stamps and labels. Its shelf life is 12 months. Complies with EU Directive 67/548/EC regulation.

Provides wetting properties on polar substances, good pigmentability, adhesiveness, low ash & VOC content and emulsifying property. KURARAY POVAL™ L 10 possible applications include adhesives, specialty papers, building materials and polymerization (emulsion/suspension). Meets SVHC.
