Kemsurf OS38 is used in many application areas such as:
- Liquid hand soap
- Foaming agent for personal care
- Detergent for household and toiletries
- Emulsion polymerisation
- Shampoos - will not strip the hair of natural oils. When used in combination with betaines (Amphokem CAB) or amine oxides (Lansurf CAO) a similar performance to an alkyl sulfate (Kemsurf DSA) can be achieved
- Liquid dishwashing

Stainless steel, polyethylene or glass lined equipment is necessary for the storage of Kemsurf OS38 in order to prevent corrosion and subsequent contamination. This material can separate on standing and at low temperatures. May require agitation and warming prior to use.
