- Properties and Applications
EDAPLAN 480 is a solvent free wetting agent and dispersant for organic and inorganic pigments and extenders in aqueous media. It can be used for the production of coating systems based on polymer emulsions and water-soluble resins (air and oven drying, 2K systems) as well as for the production of aqueous and glycol-containing, binder-free pigment concentrates. EDAPLAN 480 stabilizes dispersed pigments and extenders and reduces the mill-base viscosity. Gloss, color strength and hiding power are improved and reflocculation is prevented. Base paints made with EDAPLAN 480 show very good compatibility on tinting with pigment concentrates.
- Recommended Levels and Use
Ladder studies are recommended to determine optimum concentration level. Normal dosage ranges from 0.5 - 20 % for inorganic pigments and from 10 - 60 % for organic pigments, calculated on pigment solids. For dosage recommendations of specific pigments and for determination of dispersant demand please consult our additional technical information.
