- Applications
Ply-Guard MEA is used to coat tank exteriors, bridges, metal buildings, exposed structural steel, fertilizer mixing and process installations, process equipment vessels, piping, offshore equipment and for mild immersion service. Ply-Guard MEA has superior overall chemical resistance to a broad range of chemicals in comparison to other high build mastic epoxy aluminum coatings.
- Surface Preparation
For Atmospheric Service: Power tool or hand tool clean to remove all dirt, rust, or non-adherent coating. For more severe environments, dry abrasive blasting or water blasting to a commercial blast is preferred. For Immersion Service: Dry abrasive blast to a white metal finish with a 1—1½ mil profile. Over new concrete, etch surface with 10% Muriatic Acid, flush with water and dry.
- Applications
Ply-Guard MEA may be applied by spray, brush, or roller. Cross spraying, brush, or roller application technic is highly desirable. Apply to recommended DFT using conventional, airless, brush, or roller methods.
- Applications
For Atmospheric Service: Ply-Guard MEA is DMT self priming and can be used as a topcoat over many existing coatings. Contact Polyset Tech. Rep. for specific application recommendations. For Immersion Service: WB HRZS® Primer is recommended. Contact Polyset Tech. Rep. for specific application recommendations.
