Our Caprylic Capric Triglycerides (MCT Oil) is palm-free. MCT Oil, also known as Caprylic Capric Triglycerides, is gaining widespread attention within the beauty, cosmetic and personal care industries due to its impressive silky, oil-free texture and oxidative stability. Despite the word oil in its name, MCT Oil is actually an ester, not a true oil. It primarily contains Caprylic Acid and Capric Acid, medium chain triglycerides that are fluid at room temperature. Not all commercially available MCT Oils are produced solely from coconuts. Some MCT products may be produced using unsustainable rapeseed and/or palm oils. To produce Praan Naturals MCT Oil, a process called esterification is used. Coconut oil is first hydrolyzed to yield the medium chain fatty acids and glycerol. The glycerol is reserved, and the fatty acids undergo distillation to separate them into fractions of different chain lengths. The C8 Caprylic Acid and C10 Capric Acid fractions are then re-esterified with glycerol to form MCT Oil. The oil is then filtered and deodorized. Unlike pure Virgin Coconut Oil that has a characteristic coconut aroma and that is solid and opaque at room temperature, MCT Oil is a clear, colorless and virtually odorless fluid that pours easily at room temperature. Our MCT Oil and Fractionated Coconut Oil primarily consist of Caprylic and Caparic Triglycerides. However, they are produced using different methods, and both feature important differences in properties, benefits and applications. Please refer to the Comparison Chart shown on the next page and the separate product literature available for our Fractionated Coconut Oil.

The Aspen, also known as the Quaking Aspen, is a tall, deciduous tree that is native to North America. The tree has a slender truck that can reach heights of up to 80 feet. The beautiful, smooth, white bark is rich in natural salicylates, a compound that acts as a potent natural antimicrobial. Salicylates are thought to help defend and protect aspen trees against the invasion of parasites. As the media continues to focus its attention on the risks of parabens, formaldehyde releasers, and other synthesized preservatives, product formulators and manufacturers are facing the growing challenge of procuring natural alternatives that provide suitable broad-spectrum protection. Praan Naturals is pleased to offer manufacturers and formulators a range of premium quality natural preservatives, including Aspen Bark Powdered Extract. Aspen Bark Powdered Extract helps to resist microbial contamination and control microbial growth while simultaneously offering nutritive skin conditioning benefits. The specialized process used to manufacture Aspen Bark Powdered Extract isolates the antimicrobial salicylate content so that the extract provides a standardized salicylate content range of 54.0-60.0%. Properties: Product Form: Powdered Extract Solubility: Water Color: White/Pale Odor: Very Faint, Characteristic Aroma Texture: Texture: Free Flowing, Fine Powder pH (3% Solution in Water): 3.8-6.2 Salicylate Content: 54.0-60.0% Skin Conditioning Antimicrobial (Antibacterial and Antifungal) Microorganisms Tested: E. coli P. aeruginosa S. aureus C. albicans A. brasiliensis Uses: Aspen Bark Powdered Extract is well suited for use as a natural antimicrobial in the production of skin care, hair care and cosmetic formulations. In addition to its application as a natural antimicrobial, Aspen Bark Powdered Extract also helps to condition the skin. Aspen Bark Powdered Extract is water soluble and can be added to water based formulations or during the water phase of emulsions. The ideal maximum temperature at which to incorporate Aspen Bark Powdered Extract is 140 degrees F (60 degrees C). Maintaining a pH range of 3-9 is recommended. Recommended Usage Rate: 0.2 - 3% All formulations should be challenge tested by a qualified laboratory to ensure that each batch is properly preserved. The method of production, the specific components of the formulation, the environment in which the batch is formulated and the method of packaging all play a crucial role in the resulting shelf life of a batch. Therefore, we cannot guarantee your results when incorporating natural preservatives into your formulations. Only lab challenge testing can determine how and if a preservative is achieving the desired results. Storage Information: Store in a cool, dry location. The ideal storage temperature range is 73-78 degrees Fahrenheit (23-25 degrees Celsius). Do not freeze. Praan Naturals Fractionated Coconut Oil is palm-free. Fractionated Coconut Oil is a light, fluid and stable lipid. It consists primarily of Caprylic and Capric acids, two important medium-chain triglycerides that are naturally present in coconut oil and that are fluid at room temperature. Fractionated Coconut Oil is produced through the distillation and fractionation of virgin coconut oil to isolate the Caprylic and Capric acids as they are both fluid at room temperature. A small percentage of unsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic acid, an omega-6 essential fatty acid and oleic acid, an omega-9 fatty acid, may also be present in the oil. Fractionated Coconut Oil is sometimes mistakenly referred to as MCT Oil. While both Fractionated Coconut Oil and MCT Oil share some similarities, it is important to recognize that MCT Oil is actually an ester, not an oil. Fractionated Coconut Oil is produced differently and possesses a somewhat different usage profile than products typically known as MCT Oil. The Dead Sea is the deepest salt lake in the world. It's saline content is approximately 6-8 times higher than that of the oceans. It is named the Dead Sea because the salt concentration is so significant that plant and animal life cannot be sustained in these waters. In addition to its noteworthy sodium chloride (salt) content, the Dead Sea is remarkably rich in other minerals including Potassium, Magnesium, Bromide and an array of other essential and trace minerals. The shores of the Dead Sea are home to many health spas and resorts. Since ancient times, the Dead Sea has attracted visitors who are familiar with the many restorative benefits of soaking in these nutrient-rich waters. It is said that those that swim in the Dead Sea easily float on the water's surface due to the high concentration of sodium chloride. Dead Sea Salts have been used for centuries to help balance the skin, make it look and feel smoother and soothe damaged and problem skin. The synergistic mineral composition of Dead Sea Salts, including its high potassium and magnesium content, makes Dead Sea Salt one of the most beneficial natural salts available. The Dead Sea contains significantly higher quantities of these minerals than the does the ocean or other bodies of salt water. Dead Sea Salts, therefore, are superior for use in bath salts, natural exfoliants and products intended to help provide relaxation. Dead Sea Salts are an ideal choice for body exfoliating products as the salts help to re-mineralize the skin and balance moisture content.
