Our Caprylic Capric Triglycerides (MCT Oil) is palm-free. MCT Oil, also known as Caprylic Capric Triglycerides, is gaining widespread attention within the beauty, cosmetic and personal care industries due to its impressive silky, oil-free texture and oxidative stability. Despite the word oil in its name, MCT Oil is actually an ester, not a true oil. It primarily contains Caprylic Acid and Capric Acid, medium chain triglycerides that are fluid at room temperature. Not all commercially available MCT Oils are produced solely from coconuts. Some MCT products may be produced using unsustainable rapeseed and/or palm oils. To produce Praan Naturals MCT Oil, a process called esterification is used. Coconut oil is first hydrolyzed to yield the medium chain fatty acids and glycerol. The glycerol is reserved, and the fatty acids undergo distillation to separate them into fractions of different chain lengths. The C8 Caprylic Acid and C10 Capric Acid fractions are then re-esterified with glycerol to form MCT Oil. The oil is then filtered and deodorized. Unlike pure Virgin Coconut Oil that has a characteristic coconut aroma and that is solid and opaque at room temperature, MCT Oil is a clear, colorless and virtually odorless fluid that pours easily at room temperature. Our MCT Oil and Fractionated Coconut Oil primarily consist of Caprylic and Caparic Triglycerides. However, they are produced using different methods, and both feature important differences in properties, benefits and applications. Praan Naturals Aloe Vera Inner Leaf Gel 1:1 Decolorized is processed and made in the USA by a processor that has received certification from the International Aloe Science Council (IASC). Pure Aloe Vera Gel is known for its ability to soothe, moisturize and protect the skin and hair. It is obtained from the inner filets of fresh, premium quality aloe vera leaves. It is processed to remove the pulp and fiber. The resulting gel is then decolorized, pasteurized, and preserved to give it a stable shelf life. Preserved with 0.1% potassium sorbate and 0.05% sodium benzoate.

Virginian Cedarwood Essential Oil, Juniperus virginiana, is actually a member of the juniper family. It is the source for most of the cedarwood essential oil available. Aromatically, Virginian Cedarwood Essential Oil is a base note. It possesses a beautifully deep, rich, woody aroma that resembles the scent of cedarwood closets. It is a highly versatile essential oil that tends to be an aromatic favorite among men. Emotionally, Virginian Cedarwood Essential Oil is a very grounding oil. It is a good choice for inclusion within blends intended to support relaxation and a sense of calm. Within skin care applications, Virginian Cedarwood Essential Oil can be helpful in blends intended to help combat oily skin. It is also helpful in supporting a healthy respiratory system. Insects tend to dislike the aroma of Virginian Cedarwood Essential Oil, and that is one of the reasons why the wood has been used to make closets and to make cedarwood balls for use in long term clothing storage. Indonesian Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil is steam distilled from the inner bark of the Cinnamomum burmanni tree. It is a warm, highly aromatic, spicy oil that possesses an aroma that is a cross between traditional Cinnamon Bark Oil (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) and Cassia Bark Oil (Cinnamomum cassia). It is an affordable alternative to Cinnamomum zeylanicum and is well suited, in appropriate safe dilutions, for use in soaps, personal care and room fragrancing applications. The beautiful, spicy aroma blends well with oils in the citrus, floral, spice, woods and resin categories. It blends especially well with clove, ylang ylang, rose, frankincense, geranium and patchouli. It is a favorite aroma of all genders and ages. It can bring a lovely warmth and complexity to otherwise ordinary aromatic formulations. Pink Grapefruit Essential Oil, Citrus paradisi, is aromatically sweeter than White Grapefruit Oil. It is cold pressed from the peels of pink grapefruits and possesses a fresh, clean, uplifting aroma. The aroma is slightly tart while also being pleasant and sweet and is generally well favored even by those that don't enjoy consuming the fresh fruit itself. Within holistic aromatherapy applications, Pink Grapefruit Essential Oil has been used to uplift the spirits and relieve stress. Within skin and hair care applications, it offers astringent properties that help to balance oily skin and hair. It is a useful addition to facial toners. Praan Naturals Fractionated Coconut Oil is palm-free. Fractionated Coconut Oil is a light, fluid and stable lipid. It consists primarily of Caprylic and Capric acids, two important medium-chain triglycerides that are naturally present in coconut oil and that are fluid at room temperature. Fractionated Coconut Oil is produced through the distillation and fractionation of virgin coconut oil to isolate the Caprylic and Capric acids as they are both fluid at room temperature. A small percentage of unsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic acid, an omega-6 essential fatty acid and oleic acid, an omega-9 fatty acid, may also be present in the oil. Fractionated Coconut Oil is sometimes mistakenly referred to as MCT Oil. While both Fractionated Coconut Oil and MCT Oil share some similarities, it is important to recognize that MCT Oil is actually an ester, not an oil. Fractionated Coconut Oil is produced differently and possesses a somewhat different usage profile than products typically known as MCT Oil. Aromatically, Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil acts as a top note and possesses a fresh, crisp medicinal aroma. It blends well with peppermint, spearmint, lavender, lemon and other citrus oils and cedarwood and other wood oils. Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil is well suited for use in room diffusion and chest balm types of applications intended to support wellness. In holistic aromatherapy applications, Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil is typically considered to be energizing and uplifting. Is can be used in blends to help promote focus and clarity. Praan Naturals Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil has been rectified to contain 80% 1,8-Cineole (also known as Cineole or as Eucalyptol). According to the third edition of The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy Volume 1 by Salvatore Battaglia, rectification is typical for Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil in order to improve its aroma. Essential Oil Safety Edition 2 by Robert Tisserand and Rodney Young recommend avoiding use of Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil on or near the face of babies and children. For topical formulations intended for adults, they recommend a dermal maximum of 20%.

Praan Naturals Candelilla Wax is a hard, brittle, vegetable wax supplied in pellet form. Candelilla wax is the exudate found on the leaves of a small shrub native to Mexico and the southwest. It can be used as a substitute for beeswax or carnauba wax. It is softer than carnauba wax and is often used to make candles. Candelilla wax in commonly used in lip products, stick formulations, body butters, creams, lotions, hair pomades and other products requiring stiffness. Candelilla Wax ranges in color from light yellow to light brown. Our current lot of Candelilla Wax Pellets is light brown and is darker than our previous lot. Pellet size ranges between approximately 1/8 Inch to 1/4 Inch in Diameter.

Praan Naturals Hops Total CO2 Extract is produced from the cones of Humulus lupus, more commonly known as hops. Hops are most well known for their use in flavoring beer. Hops Total CO2 Extract contains both the volatile and non-volatile CO2 soluble components of hops. CO2 Totals are CO2 Supercritical Extracts that have been extracted at higher pressure than those classified as CO2 Selects. CO2 Totals are believed to most closely represent the natural plant as compared to essential oils and CO2 Selects.
