It belongs to the chemical group of methyl esters and functions as a solvent, adjuvant, and carrier. Its versatile usage encompasses concentrated emulsions (ew), emulsifiable concentrates (ec), industrial applications, microemulsions (me), oil dispersants (od), oil in water emulsions (ew), solvents, suspoemulsions (se), and tank mix adjuvants. Noteworthy attributes include its bio-based nature, kosher certification, derivation from natural sources, and being plant-derived.

STEPAN® VCP is a synthetic thickener suitable for liquid detergents and household cleaning products. It is compatible with most surfactants and has a maximum pH tolerance of 8.5. When combined with alkyl ether sulfates, it improves viscosity, foam, and the cloud point.
