STRUKTOL® HT 105A is a non-discoloring multifunctional additive based on a novel processing additive which is used as a mild mastication additive. It gives excellent dispersion in rubber, and at the same time the dispersion of powdery compounding materials is improved.
STRUKTOL® HT 105A’s performance differs from standard chemical peptizers. Its masticating effect is somewhat slower; however it remains active for a longer period of time. Preferably the high molecular weight polymer chains are broken down, resulting in a more uniform molecular weight distribution and better dynamic vulcanizate properties.
The optimum performance of STRUKTOL® HT 105A is achieved at about 130°C, but is also effective at considerably lower temperatures and can therefore be used on two-roll mills at temperatures above 90°C.
