Fungal Amylase is an alpha amylase enzyme preparation produced by Aspergillus oryzae. It is available as a liquid or as a powder formulation. This rapid acting hydrolase is active throughout the acidic pH range, through the neutral pH range and well into the mildly alkaline range. It readily degrades a wide variety of starch-containing substrates. This product is not extremely heat-resistant compared with enzymes from bacterial sources, but exhibits adequate heat resistance for many industrial and most agricultural applications where its pH range is often complementary to alpha amylase from bacterial sources.

Glucanase BEX 10,000 beta glucanase is particularly useful in industrial and agricultural processing applications due to its high degree of stability. This enzyme’s resistance to denaturation by higher than moderate temperature and pH extremes makes it particularly durable. This enzyme hydrolizes beta‐D‐glucan components, bypassing branch points which often serve as blocking points to other exo‐acting enzymes. Despite the fact that Beta‐glucanase is the primary enzyme associated with this product, other enzymes providing enhanced action are also present. Bacillus subtilis amylase in the product is particularly useful due to its activity upon a broad range of starches. Beta‐glucanase helps break down glucose linked polymers often associated with grains such as barley, oats and what. Other products such as soybean meal and locust bean gum are also susceptible to enzyme hydrolysis. Hemi‐cellulase activity attacks plant wall components. The presence of soluble calcium has a stabilizing effect on most enzymes of this type.

ACCELOBAC® AG is a culture blend of Bacillus strains of Bacillus subtilis, B. amyloliquifaciens, B. licheniformis, B. megaterium, B. polymyxa and B. pumilus. The product is designed specifically for use in aquaculture. It contains special microbial cultures selected for their ability to produce large quantities of digestive enzymes in an aquatic environment. American Biosystems SUPER AO Fermentation Product is a highly concentrated blend of beneficial fungal cultures for inclusion in pelleted animal feeds or as a top dressed ingredient. Although the fungal alpha amylase present in Super AO is not capable of surviving in pelleting, the ingredient is still usefull in pelleted feeds. The product contains UGF’s (unidentified growth factors) which appear to improve microbial fermentation in vitro and in vivo in a variety of scientific publications. Super AO can be specifically assayed for this component and these growth factors are extremely resistant to heat experienced in pelleting. The addition of Super AO to a soy based diet allows for the degradation of oligiocaccharides such as raffinose and stachyose and a decrease in trypsin inhibitor. Larger protein molecules are degraded allowing for higher levels of amino acids such as lysine, methionine, and tyrosine.
