This product has the properties of a polydimethylsiloxane fluid with a moderately high viscosity but with superior water repellency. 

CELLOSIZE(TM) Texture E50 Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose is a methoxy- and hydroxypropyl-substituted cellulosic polymer that is supplied as white powders. The ratio of methoxy to hydroxypropyl largely determines the properties of the different product grades. This thickener is an excellent rheology modifier, binder, film former, and water-retention agent. It yields a viscosity of 50 cP at low addition levels.
