Add-Additives Company Logo
ADD-3034 is a silicone surface additive designed for substrate wetting, anti-cratering and leveling of the coatings. Due to the fluorocarbon modification, ADD-3034 has very low surface tension and is extremely compatible with most paint systems, both water- and solvent-based industrial coatings.

Functions: Leveling Agent, Wetting Agent

Chemical Family: Silicones

Features: Improved Slip, Improved Substrate Wetting

End Uses: Solventborne Coating, Waterborne Coating

APPLICATIONS AND USAGE

Coatings:
ADD-3034 promotes substrate wetting and acts as an anti-cratering agent in solvent-based and aqueous coatings (cratering often caused by insufficient cleaning of the substrate or by particles of dirt or incompatible substances). ADD-3034 improves surface smoothness and slip, and prevents floating. The advantage of improved substrate wetting caused by reduced interfacial tension, also results in foam stabilization in some cases. It is therefore appropriate in such cases to incorporate a defoamer/anti-foam at the same time.
ADD-3034 can be added at any stage of manufacture as long as sufficient shear forces are applied to ensure uniform distribution of the additive.
