- Applications & Uses
ADD-6230 can be used in all solvent-based and solvent-free industrial and decorative coating systems. It is especially suitable for wetting, dispersion and stabilization of inorganic pigments and fillers in solvent-free epoxy and polyurethane systems, like flooring or pipe-line coatings.
ADD-6230 can also be used to decrease the viscosity of water-based resin-free inorganic pigment concentrates, based on high molecular weight dispersing agents like ADD-4590.
In addition ADD-6230 is suitable for dispersion and stabilization of inorganic pigments and fillers in water-based decorative paints based on acrylic emulsions, achieving a better rheology and improved gloss.
Addition: 1 - 3% based on fillers and inorganic pigments.
It is recommended to neutralize ADD-6230 with an amine to pH 7.5 – 8.0, to make it water-soluble.
Incorporation:
ADD-6230 when used in mill-bases, should be added before grinding. If it is used for post-addition in pigment concentrates, a good dispersion is required.

Storage & Handling
- STORAGE, SAFETY & HANDLING
ADD-6230 should be stored in a cool dry place, preferably at room temperature (20 °C). The haziness and solidification that can take place below 18 °C, does not affect the quality and can be reversed by heating. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the manufacturing date. ADD-6230 should be handled in accordance with good industrial practice. Detailed information can be found in the Safety Data Sheet.
