L-carnitine orotate is a stabilized form of L-carnitine with a higher absorption rate than other forms of L-carnitine when combined with tartrate. It transports fatty acids through the mitochondrial membrane of the cell, making their metabolism possible and therefore obtaining energy and water from them through the process of beta oxidation. It is usually used in food supplements as it is highly soluble in water.
