Bomar™ BR-541S a difunctional, polyether urethane acrylate that is used for its desirable balance of toughness and flexibility. It adheres readily to a variety of substrates including cold rolled steel, glass, PC, and stainless steel. It is an excellent choice for impact-resistant coatings. BR-541S is desirable for use in cosmetic applications where color stability and optically clear tough coatings are needed.

BR-441BI20 is a fast-curing, high tensile strength, low molecular weight aliphatic polyester urethane acrylate with low color, high hardness, and excellent adhesion to plastic substrates. BR-441BI20 can be considered for use in high tensile strength overprint varnishes, high tensile strength 3D printing resins, and non-yellowing coatings.

Bomar BR-202, an aromatic polyether urethane dimethacrylate, finds use in a diverse number of UV coating applications. BR-202 is valued for its strong bond strength, its affinity for glass, steel, and a variety of plastic substrates, and for its excellent elongation. BR-202 is also of value for its low initial color (despite its aromatic nature).

LumiSetTM LSR-241P is a hydrophobic urethane methacrylate resin designed for use in top coat applications for hybrid and long-wear nail lacquers. Synthesized using building blocks from nail gel chemistries, LSR-241P is a solvent-borne film-forming resin that can offer nail lacquer formulators the benefits of impact resistance and durability from nail gels while also achieving a tack-free finish without the need for UV or LED lamps. The combination of toughness, and hydrophobicity offers formulators an alternative to leachable plasticizers or potentially toxic gloss enhancers. Top coats formulated with LSR-241P should be paired with an adhesion-promoting base coat or base/color coat combo to ensure proper adhesion to the nail bed. LSR-241P is INCI registered and can be formulated to cure with sunlight exposure using appropriate INCI-registered photoinitiators. Adding cellulosic film formers to this neat polyurethane resin increases the tack free dry time to acceptable nail lacquer dry times of two minutes or less.

BR-543TF is a difunctional aliphatic polyether urethane acrylate that is tin-free. Films formulated with BR-543TF exhibit superior physical and weathering capabilities. BR-543TF may also be used to improve the flexibility, weathering, and adhesion characteristics of existing film and foil coatings. This product shows a high degree of crystallinity at room temperature.

BOMAR®XDT-1018 is a dendritic acrylate with an average functionality of 18. XDT-1018 is ideal in applications where withstanding exposure to the harshest conditions is paramount.Great for high-temperature applications because thermogravimetric analysis indicates the oligomer doesn’t decompose until 350 °C.

BOMAR® XR-145S, a high molecular weight, trifunctional, aliphatic polyether urethane methacrylate, provides low formulation viscosity and moderate elongation with non-yellowing properties. XR-145S shows adhesion to a variety of substrates, making it a candidate for consideration in mixed surface adhesion applications. It is mainly used in coatings for glass and primer coatings.

Synthesized using building blocks from nail gel chemistries, LSR-141 is a solvent-borne film-forming resin that can offer nail lacquer formulators the benefits of adhesion and durability from nail gels while also achieving a tack-free finish without the need for UV or LED lamps. The combination of excellent adhesion, flexibility, and toughness offers formulators an alternative to other leachable plasticizers or potentially toxic adhesion promoters. The excellent adhesion of LSR-141 allows for the combination of color and base coats into one step. Base and color coats formulated with LSR-141 should also be paired with a hydrophobic top coat due to the hydrophilic nature of LSR-141. LSR-141 is INCI registered, and can be formulated to cure with sunlight exposure using appropriate INCI-registered photoinitiators. A non-reactive alternative version of LSR-141 is available as LSR-141N.
